Using Viral Ebooks To Create Traffic
I recently read an article by Jimmy D. Brown about the use of viral ebooks, particularly using viral ebooks built from PLR (private label rights) products to create traffic for your website. I thought I’d share some of his tips about viral ebooks with you and give you a link to resource where you could learn more. So here we go …
First, Brown suggests that you never use a link inside your ebooks that you can’t control. His example is this: instead of using a direct affiliate link, link to a page on your website that redirects the visitors to your affiliate link. The reason for this is simple: things change. Programs change affiliate managing systems, they change affiliate links, etc. If that occurs, all you have to do is make a quick change on your website and no harm’s done. If your viral ebook contained a direct affiliate link, however, it would no longer work and all your viral efforts would be lost.
Second, Brown suggest avoiding information that may be become dated. For example, mentioning a trial offer or a special price or a note that a product was just released. These can all become outdated and therefore make your ebook outdated.
Third, you don’t want to brand your viral ebooks yourself. Provide those who will be sharing your ebook with the branding tool and instructions so they can do it themselves. Otherwise, you’re going to spend all day doing personal branding for folks and never get anything else done.
Finally, Brown recommends that you always launch new browser windows with your ebook links. When a reader clicks on a link, you want a new browser window to open outside of your ebook in case there are any problems. You accomplish this with a simple line of code into your links inside the eBook. The code looks like this … Target=”Resource Window”
