Not All Successful Marketers Make Good Teachers

Sometimes I’m flat out wrong, and as painful as it is to admit it … it does need admitting.

The newest trend in Internet marketing is really an old trend that’s recently found its way back to the forefront … it’s upscale coaching. Now, this might take the form of an insider’s membership site where the guru promises to share the secrets and step-by-steps to his success. Or it may take the form of a mentoring program or an apprenticeship, etc.

I’m sure you’re familiar with them. In fact, you may belong to one or more.

How’s it doing for you?

Great, I hope.

There are some excellent and powerful Internet marketing coaching programs out there. A super example is Job Crusher, which unfortunately is currently closed to new members. Inside, you’ll find areas such as Look Over My Shoulder and Fast Track To 4K A Month, plus step-by-step methods, business models and much more. They’re going to open again within the next few months, I’m told, so if you want to get on the waiting list it’s here: Job Crusher

But there are many more programs that simply miss the mark. Most often, this is because the Internet marketing guru is far better at what he does than he is at teaching it. I’ve seen this time and again lately, from a variety of experts.

There’s that old saying, those that can … do, those that can’t … teach.

Well, sometimes those that can … can’t teach.

Of course, it’s often understandable. They’ve been running their own successful Internet business for so long that everything has become second nature to them. They don’t have to stop and plan out each step, because they take those steps without even thinking about them. They know what has worked and what hasn’t worked, and rarely look back at the vast foundation of information that they’ve accumulated over the years.

It may be challenging; it may take hard work; but a great deal of the process comes naturally to them.

And therein lies the problem.

They’ve moved so far beyond the entry point of a newbie or even a young marketer of a few years that it’s difficult to go back. It’s difficult to understand how lost and confusing this marketing stuff can be for someone new to it. It’s difficult to comprehend what step-by-step actually means for someone who’s never done it before.

I bring this up because I’ve decided to drop out of CB Affiliate Formula. Now, I’ve purchased other products by Andrew Fox and I’ve listened to interviews he’s done, and this guy is brilliant. He really knows his stuff. And I’ve always found his products to be well worth the money.

But at this point, CB Affiliate Formula seems lost. There’s not much material inside, certainly not a step-by-step system to get members started on successfully building a Clickbank affiliate program. And certainly not his own personal step-by-step formula, which I believe was really what most members were looking for when they joined. There is some excellent material, such as the affiliate marketing flowchart and several of the interviews. But at this point, the value does not meet the price in my mind.

The membership site has opened its doors again. You can still join here: CB Affiliate Forumla if you’re so inclined.

However, I’d suggest you wait a couple of months. I think by then CB Affiliate Formula will have had some time to grow, to learn from its current members, and deliver a better product. At least I hope so. Andrew Fox has too much great information inside him to keep it all to himself.

Finally, a quick mention of another membership site that’s coming up. This one has incredible promise, and while I haven’t seen inside yet, I believe it’s going to be a godsend for newbies who are looking for a way to build a wildly successful Internet business, starting from scratch, and following their own interests and passions.
