Automate Your Content

We all know that content is king on the Internet. Users search for it. Web publishers provide it. And when you provide what they’re looking for, everyone’s happy.

Unfortunately, preparing unique premium content on a regular basis (which keeps the search engines happy and the visitors coming) can be incredibly demanding.

With that in mind, I wanted to share with you some alternatives that can help lift some of the burden off your shoulders without causing your search engine positioning to suffer.

1. RSS - RSS allows users to display specific files every time they are uploaded on a source website. For example, if website A generates RSS feeds to announce new articles uploaded to its server. Websites B, C, D and E are subscribed to these RSS feeds, so they can display the content of the feeds on their web pages. In order to do this, all you need is an RSS-to-HTML reader, so that the RSS feeds you will display on your pages can be readable for the search engine spiders. Now, every time the source website posts new content, it will appear on your website.

2. Create Your Own Forum - Online users normally gravitate toward forums that are dedicated to their own passions. If you attach a forum to your website, your visitors can sign up to participate. Since it’s related to a subject they’re passionate about, they’ll create threads, answer one another’s questions, post messages and generally keep the forum alive an healthy, by creating content for you. The one caveat here is that a forum with no activity will quickly die. You don’t want visitors going to your forum and finding nothing going on. They’ll leave immediately.

3. Integrate A Feedback Manager - If you’re posting articles as content, then consider including a feedback system. This enables your readers to leave comments below the articles. It’s free content … your article serves as the catalyst for content that is continuously added by interested readers who want to share their thoughts on what you’ve posted.

4. Run A Contest - Offering a prize for the visitor who submits the most engaging article relevant to the subject of your website is a wonderful way to encourage your visitors to submit entries that you can use as your own content. Just remember that your contest rules should include a term which states that submitted entries can be published on your website as a condition to their inclusion in the contest.

5. Run A Mini-Article Directory - Try to visit Ezine Articles or Go Articles. See how these websites ensure themselves of an abundant supply of great content? Simply follow their model, and implement the same on your website. An article directory is relatively easy to set up, and you won’t have to struggle to get a flood of fresh daily content.
